BCCI announces team for Zimbabwe tour; Rahane named captain, Kohli, Dhoni rested

June 29, 2015: New The national selectors have picked the Indian team in Delhi on Monday ahead of their tour to Zimbabwe for three ODIs and two T20I. As expected senior players MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin were rested.
The likes of regulars Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma have been rested too.
Ajinkya Rahane has been selected to captain India in Zimbabwe. Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh has been recalled back to the limited over format. The likes of Murali Vijay, Manoj Tiwary, Robin Uthappa and Kedar Jadhav has made a return to the side.
Youngster Sandeep Sharma too is selected for the first time and he will look to impress in his debut series.
Ravindra Jadeja has been dropped from the side after a string of poor performances. Umesh Yadav too has been dropped and he will be part of the India A squad which was selected alongside.
Cheteshwar Pujara will be leading the side and the team has several youngsters alongside some experienced players.
