Woman hacks sleeping hubby to death, ends life

Mysuru, Dec 18, 2014, DHNS: A woman allegedly hacked her sleeping husband to death before ending her own life at their home in CFTRI Layout near Bogadi in Mysuru on Wednesday.

According to the police, Sathyanarayana alias Sathya (28) and Manaswi D alias Manu (25) are the dead. Manu is suspected to have done her husband to death by hitting him on the forehead with a pickaxe when he was asleep in the living room.

She later hanged herself from the grill of a window with her veil, in another room.
The incident came to light when the landlord noticed Sathya had not left for work. He peeped through the living room window and found his blood-soaked body. He informed the Saraswatipuram police.

Troubled marriage

Having fallen in love while in college, the two had married against their parents’ wishes a year ago. The young couple took the second floor house of Krishna and Jayamma on rent.

According to the two separate death notes found in the house, it was a premeditated murder. Their relationship had soured several months ago. Aggrieved, Manu had made up her mind three months ago to get rid of Sathya.

In one of her letters addressed to the landlord’s wife Jayamma, she narrated her woes. She has candidly stated that Sathya, by making plans to leave her, was going to ruin her life.

She said she was forced to take the drastic step. She has also blamed Sathya’s parents and grandparents.

Her handwriting is yet to be confirmed, said the police.
