2 Naxals willing to surrender; govt response awaited

Karkala, Sep 21, 2014 In a welcome development, two absconding Naxals who carried a cash reward of Rs one lakh on their heads, have reportedly offered tosurrender.

The Naxals have offered to surrender are C M Noor Zulfikar alias  Sridhar, from  Chitradurga and Sirimane Nagaraj. It is learnt, the two expressed their willingness to surrender following talks  of the government through a newspaper editor.

Sources said the two have placed forth several demands  before theirsurrendered and the government’s response to the same is not yet known.

Police sources said the two had remained in hiding for several years and were wanted in connection with several cases. The ANF which was on the look out for them, had even pasted posters showing their photographs in Naxal affected villages, requesting people to inform them  regarding the whereabouts of the two.

There is information that the ANF is awaiting the surrender of the two Naxalites who had reportedly refrained from disruptive activities since the past few years when they were in hiding.
