Aloysius, SDM College teams win handball tournament

Udupi, Jan 23, 2019: The women’s team of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, won the women’s Mangalore University-level inter-collegiate handball tournament, while SDM College, Ujire, won in the men’s category.

The tournament was jointly organised by Poornaprajna College and Mangalore University at PPC Maidan.

In the women’s final match, the St Aloysius team beat Alva’s College, Moodbidri by 14-09 points. In the men’s final match, the team from SDM College beat Alva’s College by 27-23 points.

Adamaru Mutt seer Vishwaprita Swami said, “Sports personnel should accept winning and losing in a good spirit. Sports help in mental and physical growth. Students should take part in extracurricular activities and sports along with academic activities.”

Poornaprajna College principal Dr B Jagadish presided over the programme.
