Bantwal, July 29, 2014: Ancient idols and other pooja materials pertaining to the Nalkaittaya Daiva Navooraguttu Ajila family were traced at a place called Kadavina Bagilukatte in Navoor village on July 28, Monday.
Around 30 idols pertaining to the Daiva were among those materials traced. All the idols are now kept at the local Vishnumurthi temple. They were traced when the land purchased by a person in the area was being dug. It is said that the Bhandara house of the Nalkattaya Daivasthana was earlier located in this place. The same was destroyed during the floods in the area in 1974.
Revenue officials as well as local police visited the spot on gathering information about the tracing of the idols. Even several people had gathered at the spot out of curiosity.
