Mangaluru, Jan 03, 2020: Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatte will be celebrating its annual feast from January 14 to 16. The festival will be formally inaugurated on January 4 with a votive offering procession at Jayashree Gate. This will be followed by flag hoisting. The function will be attended among others by Fr Dionysius Vaz, Rector of St Aloysius institutions and Vedavyas Kamath, MLA of Mangaluru South.
This was informed to reporters here on January 3, Friday by Fr Wilfred Rodrigues, Superior of St Joseph’s Monastery.
The Nine Day Novena as part of the feast will be held from January 5 to 13. The Feast Day Mass on January 14 will be presided over by Dr William D’Souza, Archbishop of Patna, while the evening mass will be presided over by Mangaluru Bishop Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha.
On January 15, Bishop of Sindhdurg Dr Anthony Allwyn Baretto and Archbishop Emeritus of Bengaluru Dr Bernard Moras will preside over the morning and evening mass respectively. On January 16, the two masses will be respectively presided by Bellary Bishop Dr Henry D’Souza and Vicar General of Mangaluru Diocese Fr Maxim Noronha.
On January 9 a blood donation camp will be held at the shrine campus with the co-operation of Fr Muller Medical College, Fr Rodrigues informed.
