Bantwal: Honest auto driver Abdul Sattar wins acclaim again

Mangalore Today News Network

Bantwal, May 22, 2015: In this age when greediness and selfishness rules the world, here is an autorickshaw driver from Goodinabali near Bantwal who has proved that  he is honest to the core. Truly he enjoys the title ‘Netravathi Veera’ which aptly suits him.

honesty auto driver Abdul Sattar Goodinabali  is in the news again, this time for returning a bag of valuables belonging to three women who had travelled in his autorickshaw from BC Road to Panemangalore  on May 20, Wednesday.

However, Sattar who saw the bag only after he returned from a mosque after offering Namaz began to think of the way to reach the women, when coincidentally the women arrived by another autorickshaw. Sattar duly handed over to them  the bag of jewels and valuables. The young auto driver even refused to accept any monetary reward for his honesty and said it was his duty as a responsible citizen of the society.

A few years ago, Sattar had jumped into the Netravathi river which was in full spate, to rescue a mother who had attempted suicide with her child. Thereafter, he was conferred the title Netravathi Veera  by the Kolya seer Sri Ramananda Swamiji.

The society has a responsibility to recognise and honour such worthy individuals.
