Mangaluru, May 07, 2021: CAMPCO, the apex co-operative body of the areca growers has come forward to extend a helping hand in the present Covid times when there has arisen shortage of medical oxygen at several hospitals. It has proposed to set up oxygen plant and also supply oxygen cylinders to various hospitals in the state at an estimated cost of Rs one crore.
CAMPCO has announced that it will set up an oxygen generation plant at the premises of Puttur Government Hospital. It will also supply jumbo oxygen cylinders to hospitals in Shivamogga, Uttara Kannada, Udupi as well as hospitals in Kasargod district of the neighbouring Kerala.
In this backdrop CAMPCO is already in touch with Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, MLAs as well as Deputy Commissioners of the two districts, a press communique issued by CAMPCO President Kishore Kumar Kodgi and Managing Director H M Krishna Kumar said.
