Mangalore, Oct 25, 2014: The CPI(M) staged a demonstration in front of the DC office here on October 24, Friday evening to condemn the Union Government decision to deregulate oil prices.
Addressing the protestors, KR Sriyan, State Secretariat Board Member of the Party made a mockery of the Government decision and said there was a need to expose the politics behind the deregulation oil prices which he said aimed at giving a free hand to the oil companies to hike prices.
He further alleged that the NDA government policies were nothing but a continuation of the UPA policies. If the UPA had deregulated petrol prices in 2010, the UPA government has now deregulated diesel prices, he said.
He also urged the people to take to streets against the Union Government policies.
Party leaders Krishnappa Salian, K Yadava Shetty, Ramanna Vittla, Jayanthi B Shetty, Muneer Katipalla and others participated in the protest.
