Mangaluru, Dec 21, 2017: The Akshaya Patra Foundation which is implementing the mid-day meal scheme in government and government aided schools, in association with G T Foundation and Diya Systems Pvt Ltd will be establishing a mega kitchen that aims to serve mid-day meals to over 50,000 children from 2019 onwards. The mega kitchen premises will be located in Kodman village at Benjanapadavu, behind Canara Engineering College.
Presently Akshaya Patra is serving mid-day meals to over 1.66 million children from 13,839 schools across 12 states in India.
The foundation laying ceremony to be held on December 22, Friday will be blessed by Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji of Sri Phalimar Mutt, Udupi, Sri Eshapriya Swamiji, junior Seer of Admar Mutt, Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese and Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice Chairman of Akshaya Patra Foundation.
This was informed to reporters here on December 21, Thursday by Sundeep Talwar, CMO, The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Bengaluru and Dr V Ravichandran, CEO of Diya Systems (Mangalore) Pvt Ltd.
Rajiv Lochan Dasa, President of Akshaya Patra Foundation, Hubli Dharwad, and Karunya Sagar Dasa, President of Akshaya Patra Foundation, Mangaluru will preside over the function.
