Mangaluru, July 26, 2020: The District Health Office has put to rest all confusion over quarantine rules for international passengers, in the wake of unsubstantiated messages on social media.
The health officer has said that seven days of institutional quarantine in a hotel/lodge and another seven days of home quarantine is compulsory for international passengers. He said the throat swab samples of those in institutional quarantine will be collected and if the report is negative they will be sent for home quarantine for another seven days.
In case of children below ten years, pregnant woman and those above 60 years and those suffering from other ailments, the throat swab will be collected on the second day of institutional quarantine and in case their report is negative they will be sent for home quarantine for 14 days, the District Health Officer has informed in a press communique.
