Mangalore, Nov 12, 2013 : A Japanese delegation that has visited the port city of Mangalore to explore the trade potential of the area, has shown keen interest in the fields of medicine, tourism and fisheries, informed Mohammad Ameen, President of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Speaking to reporters here, the KCCI President also said that the eleven member Japanese delegation has visited the area also with an objective of studying the feasibility of technical exchange.
The delegation included youth leaders from four parties in Japan. The team is expected to submit a report on the basis of which there may be avenues of trade opening up between Mangalore and Japan.
The Team has also visited the Fr Muller’s Medical College and the Unity Hospital and appreciated the health care services of the two institutions.
Kutsohito Takaiwa, a member of the Japanese delegation who also spoke, said Japan intends to partner in trade with developing nations including India.
