Udupi, Nov 5, 2014 : The annual Lakshadeeptosava celebrated on Uthana Dwadashi in Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt was held with grandeur and religious fervour on November 4, Tuesday. The entire Mutt as well as Carstreet was lit with oil lamps presenting a spectcular view.
Several devotees also visited the temple to offer their prayers A car festival (Rathotsava) was held after Teppotsava at the Madhwa Sarovar.The seers of Paryaya Sri Kaniyoor Mutt, Pejawar, Krishnapur, Admar and Phalimar Mutts participated in the rituals.
The ceremony began with prayers to the Utsava Murthis, the idols of Lord Krishna and Lord Mukhyaprana. The idols were taken out in a palanquin which was placed in a decorated boat which took three rounds in the lake as part of Teppotsava.
Following this ritual, the idols were placed in the Brahma Ratha which was pulled along with Chandramouleshwar Chariot all along Carstreet.
