Mangalore, Feb 17, 2013: AICC General Secretary and former union minister Oscar Fernandes laid the foundation for the new state-of-the-art campus of Prestige International School at Jeppinamogaru on February 16, Saturday. K Rehman Khan, Union Minister for Minority Affairs unveiled the new logo of the school.
In his inaugural address, Oscar said quality education was the need of the hour for India to stand on par with other developed countries. He was also highly appreciative of the yeoman efforts made by Prestige school in this direction.
Rehman Khan who also spoke, urged the Muslim community to give top importance to education and added education plays a key role in the development of any community. He also urged the Muslims to take advantage of the various facilities provided by the government to the minorities.
Gulzar Banu, Mayor of Mangalore, Hyder Ali, Chairman of H R Educational Foundation which runs Prestige School, former minister Krishna Palemar, B Ramanatha Rai, MLA, Ivan D’Souza, Vijaykumar Shetty, Congress leaders, Ibrahim Kodijal, Raviraj Shetty and others were present.
