He was speaking after inaugurating the renovated swimming pool of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) at Lal Bagh here. He said the pool, built three decades ago, shows the capacity and determination of swimmers of Mangaluru. The Mangala Stadium pool’s renovation is commendable, he said adding he too got trained at the same pool.

Inaugurated in 1987, the Mangala swimming pool with conventional water filter system had not seen major renovation except for periodical maintenance.
The Mangaluru City Corporation last year decided to renovate the pool with advanced technology and commenced the work from September 10, 2018.
The pool is now equipped with advanced filtration system with ozonisation and PH control plants to provide better quality of water.
