Minor raped : Vittal police launch search for 2 married men

Bantwal, April 25, 2014 :  Vittal police are on the look out for  three persons in connection with the alleged  rape of  a minor girl after taking her to Madikeri in a car. The incident which took place a week ago came to light on April 23, Wednesday after the  girl informed the matter to her parents.

It is learnt one of the accused Basheer of Bobbekeri came across the girl hailing from Kolpe  in Vittal town when she had come to recharge her cell phone. He   spoke to her and collected her mobile number. Ever since then, he was contacting the girl over phone and made her believe that he was a bachelor and would marry her.

When the girl trusted him completely he decided to take undue advantage of it and  on April 18 asked the girl to come out of her house saying he was waiting for her. As the girl arrived, he took her in a car to Madikeri along with another friend Basheer of Radhukatte.

There they reportedly raped her in an isolated place.  After the girl returned home, Basheer of Radhukatte called her again and  raped her at his home. Another person named Jabbar of Kanyadi too  on coming to know about the incident, summoned the girl and threatened to kill her otherwise. When the  girl’s family came to know about the developments, they questioned her and then lodged a complaint with the police.

The girl who is  shocked over the incident has been admitted to a hospital in Derlakatte.

Of the three, Basheer of Radhukatte is said to be a notorious bike thief. It is learnt, the two persons who raped the girl are married.
