NAAC Awards ‘A’ grade to Nitte University

Mangalore, Nov 20, 2013: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the national accrediting body under the UGC has awarded ‘A’ Grade to Nitte University. The NAAC has accredited a total of 178 Universities across  the country and Nitte University is one among the  68 universities which have been graded ‘A.’

In 2012, the Ministry of Human Resource Development had placed the Nitte University under category ‘A’ of Deemed University.  Now with an ‘A’ Grade even by the NAAC, Nitte University becomes the youngest university to achieve the distinction.

 

 The  recognition will now help Nitte University  start new courses as well bring more colleges under the deemed university.  The University is currently offering 87 Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses through its five constituent colleges.

Dr. N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University who is elated over the recognition, has described it  as a reward for the efforts of the University to achieve excellence.
