Udupi, Nov 17, 2017: In about a week’s time, you will no longer have to search for Mattu Gulla at markets as it would come stuck with stickers which will easily differentiate it from other local gullas.
The Mattu Gulla, which enjoys Geographical Indication (GI) tag, is a special variety of brinjal grown by 160 growers in about 120 acres of land at Mattu and Kaipunjal villages in Udupi district.
To get good price, these growers, who had formed the Mattu Gulla Belegarara

The vegetables do not have any taste as they are using a lot of chemicals to make them look big and beautiful , but the mattu gulla which comes during this time is grown naturally so it is tasty and most of them love it | |
