Mangaluru, Apr 27, 2015: Ramakrishna Mission continued its  Swachh Mangaluru for Swacch Bharath  drive, its 13th consecutive Sunday. The area opposite Mangaluru City Corporation at Lalbagh here got a clean sweep. Dinesh Holla,  environmentalist inaugurated with Swami Jitakamanandaji, head of the Mission present. Shubhoday Alva, Satyanarayana K V, Vineetha Rai, NSS co-ordinator, Lakshminarayana, GGM, MRPL, Dr Jeevaraj Sorake and other prominent citizens.   Employees of Ambuja Cement, Monkey Stand Friends Circle, students of Ramakrishna Mission Balakashrama and other devotees and well-wishers of the Mission took an active part in the drive.


Swachh Mangalu.

 

Volunteers led by the swamiji  cleaned the growth,  the dirt and garbage around Mangalore City Corporation. Students of Balakashrama cleaned the bus shelter opposite MCC and painted the bus shelter. Potholes on the footpath near Mangala Stadium from Pabbas in Lalbagh to Ladyhill. were a  danger to those using the footpath. The drive  identified about 15 such holes and with the help of senior volunteers got the concrete slabs replaced.  MRPL, the amin  patron of this initiative supported this drive. This is a part of the 40 weeks cleanliness drive being organized by the Mission which got underway on February 1. The volunteers had cleaned up the deputy commissioner’s office premises on April 19 as part of the drive.
