Mangaluru, July 31, 2019: The Mangaluru branch of the Indian Red Cross Society will provide free platelets for Dengue patients having BPL cards while platelets will be provided for Rs 200 for those patients without BPL cards, informed Prabhaker Sharma, General Secretary of the DK District Branch of the Indian Red Cross Society.
Speaking to reporters here on July 31, Wednesday at Patrika Bhavan, he said the Red Cross Society too would join hands with MCC and District Administration to check the spread of dengue.
The Society will be holding awareness programme at Gujjarakere, Bolar, Pandeshwar, Bunder, Ballalbagh and others areas through its volunteers. The Society will also be part of the door-to-door visit of the MCC and district administration, he added.
Sharma further stated that the Red Cross Society was also offering free blood to the needy patients at Ladygoschen Hospital.
Shantharam Shetty, Chairman of District Branch of Indian Red Cross Society, Archibald Menezes, Treasurer of Managing Committee, Blood Bank Medical Officer Dr Rachana and others were present.
