Several hurt as mini bus carrying wedding party collides with college bus

Mangalore, April 25, 2014 : Several people sustained injuries when a mini bus carrying a wedding party collided head-on with a college bus near Mangalajyothi in Vamanjoor on the evening of April 24, Thursday. The college bus belonged to Srinivas Institute of Technology.

The mini bus was heading towards Tokkottu and mostly had women and children as passengers. The injured include five women and a child. It is learnt, they have sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to AJ Hospital. The college bus was proceeding towards Vamanjoor.

Sources said the mini bus was moving on the wrong side of the road. Even its driver Haneef of Ranipura has sustained injuries. Meanwhile, even an autorickshaw hit the mini bus from the rear end.

Both the buses were badly mangled revealing the impact of the collision. The mishap disrupted traffic on the route for some time.
