Suratkal man arrested for cheating bigwigs

Mangalore, July 31, 2014 : A man residing in the Katla Janatha Colony at Kana in Suratkal has been arrested on the charges of cheating several bigwigs including politicians and businessmen to the tune of crores of rupees. The accused named Sheikh Mansoor (38) has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody upto August 8.
The court had earlier issued an arrest warrant against him in connection with 11 cheating cases in Suratkal police station limits. But he had on a previous occasion even given the cops a slip.
He has revealed during interrogation that he had cheated some political leaders of Hassan by purchasing jowar worth Rs 17 lakhs and not paying the amount. He is also wanted in connection with cheating a lady Congress leader of the district and several other persons.
Sources said he used to lure people into his trap through his juicy words. Sheikh Mansoor is also facing cases against him in various police stations in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Pondhicherry, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Kolkata.
