Mangalore , Feb7, 2013 : The Union Finance Ministry has notified the long-awaited air cargo complex at the Mangalore Airport, thus fulfilling a longstanding demand of the region.
In a press communiqué, the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has said that the notification has now facilitated flow of air cargo dispatches from Mangalore to various overseas destinations thereby encouraging exporters, manufacturers of consumable items, unaccompanied baggages, agricultural, horticultual, floricultural, fisheries exports from the region.
The Union Finance Ministry notification has said that unloading of imported goods and the loading of export goods or any class of such goods, is allowed at Mangalore airport.
The KCCI which has welcomed the notification has expressed its gratitude to airport and customs officials, state and central governments and Union Minister Veerappa Moily for their efforts in notifying the air cargo complex.
