Yakshagana ’Sapthaha’ festival at Kadri temple

Mangaluru, Aug 8, 2016: Sarayoo Bala Yakshavrunda Makkala Mela will organise ’Sarayoo sapthaha’ at Sri Kshethra Kadri temple from August 8 to 14.In a media meet Aug 6, Director Ravi Alevuraya said that well-known artistes of the district will present Yakshagana on ’Shiva Panchakshari mahime,’ ’Shree Krishna Leele-Kamsavadhe,’ ’Koti Chennaiah’ (Tulu), ’Veera Abhimanyu,’ ’Sridevi Mahisha Mardini,’ ’Shambhavi Vijaya’ and ’Draupadi Prathapa.’

A talamaddale on the prasanga of ’Sudhanva Moksha’ has been organised on the occasion. On August 14, Sarayoo women’s team will present talamaddale on ’Daksha Makha’ and Yaksha Manjusha Kadri will present talamaddale on ’Sri Krishna Karunya.’

A blind Yakshagana artiste, Anvith Thokkottu, will be felicitated during the event. Ramakrishna Mayya Siribagilu, Thenkabailu Thirumaleshwara Shastri, Vishwakumar Jois, I Kumar Shetty, Nellikatte Nar-ayana Hasyagara, and Chinmay Bhat Kalladka will be conferred with ’Yaksha Sarayoo award.’
