Young auto driver meets tragic end in Kaup beach

Udupi, April 25, 2014: A young autorickshaw driver who had come to the Kaup beach with his wife and kid, met a tragic end when he was pulled away by the strong waves on April 24, Thursday evening.
The deceased is Shahid (25) from Belapu. He used to park his auto at the autorickshaw park near old taluk office in Udupi. Shahid had decided to go on an outing with his family to the beach. It is said while playing in the water he was washed away by the giant waves. Efforts made by two local swimmers Nitin and Vinod to rescue him went in vain.
The body was later retrieved. District Minister Vinaykumar Sorake visited the spot on coming to know about the incident.
Kaup police have registered a case.
