Zimbabwe under 18 cricket team in city

Mangaluru, Dec 10, 2019:  Zimbabwe-based Heath Streak Cricket Academy’s Under 18 Team visited the city to take part in a cricket tournament which was inaugurated at B C Alva Sports Complex in Nitte on Dec 9,  Monday. The tournament continues till December 12.

 

The associates of the cricket team, AJ Group of Institutions and Rohan Corporation were felicitated at a function held at Hotel Moti Mahal. Rohan Corporation Managing Director Rohan Monteiro was honoured with the autographed cricket bat. While on behalf of AJ Group of Institutions Chairman A J Shetty, Hotel Moti Mahal General Manager K M Hegde received the bat.

The Under 18 Team’s jersey was also unveiled on the occasion. Zimbabwe team is led by Captain Denly Watama and Vice Captain Bryan Reagan.

Heath Streak International Cricket Trust CEO and Executive Director Joseph Rego said, ‘’Cricketer Heath Streak and myself share a good bonding. I was his sports agent in the year 2000. So we decided to set up a world-class cricket academy in Zimbabwe. The tournament will provide an exposure for young budding cricketers of Mangaluru.’’

Four teams namely Karavali Cricket Academy, Karavali Cricket Clinic, Nitte Education Trust and Zimbabwe Under 18 Team will take part in the tournament.
