Mangalore, Dec 13, 2011 : Vidushi Bhramari Shivaprakash will deliver a dance performance titled Kumaravyasa Nrithyabharatha on Dec 18 in the auditorium of Canara Girls’ High School at Dongerkery from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at an event organized by DK Kannada and Cultural Department in association with Naadanrithya Kala Samsthe of Mangalore.
Bhramari will present selected lines of the Karnata Bharatha Kathamanjari written by Veeranarayanappa of Gadhugi. The event will be inaugurated by her guru, the renowned danseuse of Mysore Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy. The MC of the event will be H. Chandrashekhar Khedlaya.
Vidhan Ramesh Chadaga will accompany Bhramari with his songs while Vidhushi Pawana Rajendra, Vidhwan Manohar Rao, Vidhushi Sharmila K. Rao, and Vidhwan Dr. Balakrishna will accompany her on the natuvanga, mrudanga, violin, and flute.
The sound and lighting for the event is provided by Jayaram Sounds. Ramesh Chadaga, the classical singer, and Jayanthi M. Acharya, the convener, were also present.
About Bhramari
Bhramari developed interest in dancing at the tender age of 4, having watched the dramas directed by her father Prof. Udyavara Madhava Acharya and staged by his troupe Samooha. She has participated in dance dramas such as Bringada Benneri Banthu, Hrikunida, Ananda Mukunda, Kuvara Bhasmasura, Bhagavadgitha Nrithya Vaibhava, and others.
Guided by her guru Karnataka Kalathilaka K. B. Madhava Rao, she passed her senior examination in the classical Mysore style of Bharatanatyam conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Board. He also encouraged her to continue her Vidhwath Grade under the guidance of Dr. Vasundhara Dorasawamy in the Pandanallur School of Bharathnatyam.
Bhramari has been providing top quality dance education to her students through her dance institution called Naadanrithya for the past 12 years. She has also taught dance in Academy School of Music and Fine Arts, Challenge School of Music and Fine Arts Udupi, and Surathi Inc New Jersey USA.
