Postal department holds philatelic exhibition as part of National Postal Week

Mangalore, Oct 12, 2011: The postal department held the National Postal Week from Oct 9 to Oct 14, as part of which it organized a philatelic exhibition at the head post office today.

T. G. Naik, the senior superintendent of post offices, inaugurated the exhibition at a formal function held in the premises of the Mangalore head post office for the purpose at 9:00 a.m.

 

The guest of honor was Mr. Shrinivas Baikady, the vice president of the DK Philatelic Association.

Dr. G. G. Laxman Prabhu, the associate professor of KMC and an active member of DK Philatelic Club, spoke about the importance of the postal department and the significance of philately. He also lauded Mr. Mansoor for his excellent arrangement of the exhibition.

Smt. Reshma Shetty, the head of the Philatelic Bureau, was the convener of the function.
