Reviewing a fiction novel or something like that could be simple!  But, nothing can satisfy when you have to review this ’small’ book, the very first work of an Undergrad Medico of Mangalore - EDMOND FERNANDES, when the thoughts written are genuinely from the writers heart through a deep lucid mind set. This short but thought provoking book of just a hundred pages is designed to ignite  serious humans. It will be a wide spectrum inspiration for the young and something more identifiable for the older reader with true life experience. The fitting range of selected  quotes and passages around which the thoughts and out pourings of this young Author revolves  will simply  capture your admiration and  make you not just think of the right path but will gradually head you to action! Yes, one way or the other you will be motivated to ’walk the talk’  after budding author  Edmond Fernandes ’talks the walk.’  Sensitive and unusual in it’s depth; the paucity of time may have given rise to the  printers devil,  it seems proof reading may be insufficient  but it does not have a serious impact on the matter.  This is certainly a book worth having around in institution and a reference for people in many walks of life for a while to come. A lot is put into this little provoking valued book. This short book of 100 pages is divided in to 17 sub-heads attractively for reading at ease.

As a potential  future Doctor and writer of fame, Edmond Fernandes’ observations of the anatomy of the human life in this little book are sound. Chemistry of the flesh and physics of the mind deeply analytical and calculated to benefit the reader a great deal.

Adding that Edmond’s sentiments that come across through the book are very sensitive, humane and focused and could well represent the views of a silent majority of young India. The essence of the book reflecting the life experiences of the young author brings out the truth propounded by many great minds a path to attain / achieve happiness seldom got from  what the material world offers. The  stress laid by the author to be kind to humans and nature to make a difference in their lives has an important thinking. If the readers follow some of the good things in the book there is sure to be a positive transformation in lives.

Among several who have expressed their views on the book the significant comment on the book by Dr.D G Jain, MD, FRCP(IRe), FRCP(EDIN), FRCP(Glasg), FICP, FNCCP, FIMSA, FIACM, FCPS Consultant, Internal & Pulmonary Medicine,Trustee, Tirath Ram Shah Hospital, New Delhi Hon Physician, Fortis Jessa Ram Hospital,New Delhi, " The book is a capsule with nutrients and antioxidants for the mind presently assaulted and injured in the mad, unending rat race in this digital jet set world. An enriching must read for all wanting to nourish the mind and soul for a joyous and fruitful onward journey of life.

Finally when I asked him for his take on this his maiden book, author Edmond without mincing words stated, "This is a Strange Book. It reminds you about the facts you have forgotten. It questions the inherent worth of a human being in this age, the truth begins to magnify.  Everyone has their individual vision of what it means to live life. Often, small things in life matter much. Just imagine the potential of an atom!  As you go through the magical journey of appreciating and admiring the world, give the heavens above more than just a passing glance. Be at peace with God, whatever you conceive HIM to be and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life. Keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it’s still a marvelous world. Be careful, strive to be happy."

Now is that not a great thought for any and everyone - don’t fail to get your nose into this book and you’ll know why you have a neck to stick out!
