Mangalore, June 19, 2012: Aid without Religion Trust, Mangalore which was registered on the most inauspicious of the days, the ati amavasya day at Rahu Kalam last year helps only those causes where there is no superstition of any type involved religious or otherwise. This year the trust helped the students of Gandhi Nagar Municipal School, Mangalore by giving them books, umbrellas and school bags. 


The school bags had the slogans on the- Hands that help are better than lips that pray and develop scientific temper for the progress of the nation. Since this is done every year the bags and umbrellas were given only to some who need it, as many of the students had been provided with these just last year. However, note books sponsored by the trust and have been handed over to all the children. The Area Education officer was also present.

The school bags were handed over to the children by Dr.Srinivas Kakkilaya in inspiration of his father the late Comrade B.V.Kakkilaya. He also recollected his period of study in the same school and spoke to the children emphasizing on that all his education up to STD X had been in Kannada medium schools and that made him no inferior to others who had studied in the English medium. He also told the children that they should learn to question things before accepting them.


Narendra Nayak managing trustee of the Aid Without religion Trust told the children that the most important thing from them to become when they grow is to become good human beings. The area education officer spoke on this occasion and told the children that they should not forget the help done to them when they were in school and reciprocate with the same to the less privileged of the society when they grow up and become economically independent and strong. The Head master of the school proposed the vote of thanks.
