C. Manjula inspects Morning Mist Home Stay, condemns attack

Mangalore, Aug 1, 2012 : C. Manjula of the Karnataka State Women’s Commission, on Aug 1, Wednesday, visited Morning Mist Home Stay, which was attacked by members of Hindu Janajagarana Vedike (HJV) on July 28, and later told reporters that the commission condemns the attack on students.

Stating that she visited Mangalore to find out why such incidents are repeatedly taking place in the city, she said that she is eager to find out if some forces are purposely misguiding the city’s youth and instigating them to carry out such attacks.

She also spoke of the importance of arresting all the men involved in the attack.


Assuring girl students in the city, she said that the commission gives top priority to the protection of women. Simultaneously, she also said that preventing such incidents from taking place is more important than taking action on culprits. Stating that the law will take its own course after an attack, she said that prevention is important.


She announced that she will meet the vice chancellor of Mangalore University and representatives from colleges across to Mangalore to discuss how girl students can be best protected.
