Asian Powerlifting winners warmly welcomed back

Mangaluru, Oct 11, 2015: The port city Kudla’s history of producing top class powerlifters has made the State and the country proud by bagging many a medal in several international competitions.  Keep p it’s reputation, six powerlifters from the city won medals of different categories at the Asian Benchpress Powerlifting Championship held at Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

These  winners were given a warm welcome at the Mangaluru Central Railway Station on their arrival on Oct 9.

The winners Sathish kumar (Gold medal), Vivek Kamath (Gold medal), Vincent Prakash Carlo (Bronze medal), Jayappa Lamani (Silver medal), Uday Kumar (Silver medal) and Nayana Shriyan (Silver medal) were welcomed with chende vadya and were taken out in a procession in an open jeep from Railway Station to the gymnasium at Car Street.

Satish Kumar said they were all very happy to emerge winners in the competition. The Good wishes, love and affection showered of Mangaluru over the times has enthused them all.  Excise Joint Commissioner Rajendra Prasad lead officially welcome.
