Mangaluru, April 22, 2015: At an urgent meet with NH authority officials at Bantwal Inspection Bungalow on April 21, District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai  directed officials concerned to take up the survey work for Bantwal-Hassan four lane road on National Highway 75. The minister suggested carrying out survey work towards the construction of Kalladka - Narahari Nagaradasakodi 1.78 km bypass road, so that no residential houses are acquired for the road widening.

Google maps based survey indicated the Highway passing through Sri Ram High School in Kalladka, along with more than 45 shops and houses and the people feared evacuation. A protest was held in this regard, following which Pejavar seer Vishwesha Theertha Swami and former Union Minister for Road transport and Highways Oscar Fernandes MP (RS) visited the place.

Ramanath Rai told the officials to conduct the survey to ensure that minimum houses and shops are acquired for the road.   DK DC Adoor B Ibrahim, National Highway Authority Executive Engineer C Nataraj, Project Director M Fernandes, Land acquisition officer Manjunath, Public Works Department Engineer Umesh Bhat, Tahsildar Purandar Hegde, Zilla Panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty were present.
