Moodbidri, Aug 27,2015 :  Addressing a gathering at a peace meeting convened on the eve of a public awareness meeting which would be organised by Hindu organisation workers condemning the group clashes that happened at Gantalkatte recently.

Police Inspector Anatha Padmanabha advised Citizens are responsibile to maintain peace. Don’t bother about fake news spread using social media. In case of untoward incidents, inform police.  Public should not take law into their hands. Taking law into their hands will create unrest in society.

BJP leader Krishnaraj Hegde said that society will not support those who do injustice. The police should also take stringent action against miscreants without discrimination.  Moodbidri Town Jumma Masjid former president Abdul Rehman said that a person should be punished if he is guilty, but his community should not play any role.

Moodbidri Tahsildar Mohamed Isak presided over the function. Entrepreneur Sripati Bhat, CPI(M) leader Yadav Shetty, Taluk Panchayat member Rukkayya Poojary, Town Municipal Corporation member Bahubali Prasad, BJP leader Deviprasad Shetty, Youth Congress President Chandrahas Sanil and others were present among a large citizen participation.
