Udupi, Aug 22, 2014: A Woman was found dead n her house in Manoor near Kote here on Thursday. Girijamma, 84, was living alone from the past 25 years following her husband’s death.

Gayatri, a neighbor, said that the deceased used to provide milk twice a day and was known to her She grew suspicious when Girijamma did not open the door in the morning.
 
When she looked for her from the window, she found the body. Girijamma was ill the previous day and skipped her relative’s wedding in Hassan.
She visited her neighbor’s house the previous day around 7.30pm. Locals suspect that the lady was murdered as blood was oozing from one of her ears and some of the tiles of her house had been removed. A dog squad and fingerprint experts from Udupi were pressed into service. The case has been registered in Kota police station .

 Sp P Rajendra Prasad told TOI that there were no signs of theft. However the case has been registered under section 302 (Punishment for murder ) of IPC.
