Essay and drawing contest for Matha’s b’day celebrations

Mangalore, Sep 14,2014:: Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt, Mangalore, will organise essay writing and pencil drawing competitions for school and college students to mark the occasion of the 61st birth anniversary of Matha Amritanandamayi.

Amritalekhana Pratiyogita (essay competition) will be held in two categories namely for secondary / highschool students (VIII - X) and senior secondary (I PUC and II PUC) students. Amrita Chitranjali (pencil drawing) competition will be held for the students from V, VI and VII Std, Matha Amritanandamayi Seva Samiti office-bearer M R Vasudeva told reporters.

The theme of essay competition for highschool students is “Rishis are the real scientists as they experiment in the inner laboratory of their own being.

Compare and contrast modern science and ancient spirituality in how they address man’s relationship with nature.” The topic for I PUC and II PUC students is “It is said that our thoughts and emotions affect the world around us. Explain how spiritual practices and beliefs of every religion have the same underlying principles. Show how they can help foster positivity in human life and bring peace in the world.” The theme for the pencil drawing is portrayal of “life skills and values.” Cash rewards will be given to first three winners of each category.
