Mangaluru, Jan 10, 2015: The controversy over the Commissioner of the Mangaluru City Corporation Hephsiba Rani Korlapati not visiting the houses of civic workers near Mahakalipadpu has ended with the official visiting the quarters and going a step forward – sharing food with them.

The civic workers led by Dakshina Kannada District Civic Workers and Group D Employees Association have withdrawn their proposed stir, according to its president Anil Kumar.

In a release Mr. Kumar said Ms. Korlapati visited the houses around 7 p.m. on January 7 and had lime juice and food they gave her. She advised the children in the quarters to study hard and asked their parents to give good education to their children. She listened to the grievances of the workers and promised to address them.

He said that earlier on the same day a delegation of the association met the Commissioner, where she told them that she did not visit the houses along with the chairman of State Safai Karmachari Commission Narayana on January 2 as she was tired after travelling from Bidar.
