Mangalore: Tulu movie ‘Barke’ hits silver screen

Mangalore, Feb 15,2014  The much awaited Tulu film ‘Barke’ produced by Suresh Reddy under the banner of Shree Renuka Chitra was released at Suchitra Theatre in Mangalore on February 14, Friday by Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde.  The film is currently being screened in  most of the theatres in the district including Central, Suchitra, Big Cinemas and Cinepolis in Mangalore.

Speaking after releasing the film, MCC Commissioner described Tulu as a rich language and added he too was learning Tulu by watching Tulu dramas. He hoped the fragrance of Tulunad would spread far and wide through Tulu films and wished that ‘Barke’ would hit a century.

Lead actors Nagaraj, Meghana, Director Bharath Krishna, Yajneshwar Barke,  Jagannath Shetty and others were present.

 The film has been shot at different locations including Barke, Mannagudda, Sultan Battery, Ullal Beach, Hampankatta, Bolur, Ladyhill and Urva Marigudi.
