Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Oct 28, 2014:  The Karnataka High Court on Monday granted bail to Irshad, Hussain, and Imran, who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of Bajrang Dal activist Rajesh Poojary near Bantwal on February 3.

Judge A.V. Chandrashekara ordered the release of the three on bail on the production of a surety of Rs. 1 lakh by each of them. The three have been asked to appear at the jurisdictional police station every Sunday.

Democratic Youth Federation of India has been agitating for their release. Following a series of protests, the State government had ordered a reinvestigation of the case by the Criminal Investigation Department.

The three have been in judicial custody for the past six months.

Their bail application had been rejected by the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Dakshina Kannada, on July 25.
