Mangalore, June 15, 2014: She is a woman of grace and confidence. She is a go-getter and will not rest until she reaches her goal. In fact, her confidence is her forte and she has proved it in the Koppal case where she refused to bow to political pressure.
She is Tulasi Maddineni, Chief Executive Officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat. Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, interestingly, she has never had any formal college education. After her 12th grade in Atkinson School in Hyderabad, she decided to do a foundation course for Chartered Accountancy and in the meantime did her B.Com from Nagarjuna University by appearing as a private candidate. She then appeared for the UPSC and succeeded by winning the 44th rank at the national level.
As a young girl, she loved reading books and aspired to be a top officer whenever she saw people flock the deputy collector of her town to pour out their grievances. And she realised her vision through sheer hard work.
As DK ZP CEO, she has already proved her mettle through her efficiency and her sincerity. She also won laurels when she became the first IAS officer to visit Banjarumale, a remote area in Belthangady taluk and convened a meeting with the Malekudiya families to hear their woes.
