Mangaluru, July 14, 2017: Her meritorious services in the field of National Service Scheme has earned her the coveted  state level award of "Best NSS Programme Officer" for the year 2015-16.  Service is a way  of life for this outstanding  lady Dr Ashwini S Shetty.

She serves as the  NSS Co-ordinator of Yenepoya University where she  is also the Assistant Professor in the Department of  Anatomy of the University. She proved her organising skills  by being the  Organising Secretary of the National Integration Camp for Youth held at the University campus recently. The success of the camp which was actively participated by students from across the nation has enthused Dr. Ashwini.

A BAMS degree holder from Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College, she also has an MSc (Medical Anatomy) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru and a Ph.D from Yenepoya Medical College.

Dr Ashwini has several research publications to her credit. She was also nominated as state level Joint Secretary of Society of Biological Scientists of India 2015-16. She is the recipient of  Rajyotsava Award for best theme on No Plastic in Mangalore Zone in 2012. Dr Ashwini is also a winner of World Art Award by UNICEF in 2000.
