Mangaluru, Nov 18, 2015: A nose for news and eye for detail is a must for a successful journalist in this modern competitive area. Fulfilling these major qualifications and doing justice to his role as a journalist is Rons Bantwal who has been in the field for over the past two decades.

This Mumbai based journalist who hails from Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada is a role model to many in his field through his hard work, sincerity, dedication and commitment to his profession. A civil engineering graduate, Rons who moved to Mumbai early in life, began his career as a cartoonist, and later turned to journalism by associating with Raknno Konkani weekly.

Later, he became the Mumbai Chief of Jana Vahini and subsequenly worked for Karnataka Malla, Udayavani, Taranga and many more organisations. From then there was no looking back for him and till date he has worked for various Kannada dailies, periodicals in Mumbai as well as several websites based in his home district. He has also served as Editor of Dilli Varthe, Kannada daily in Mumbai.

Rons  Bantwal  has been instrumental in founding the Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha of Maharashtra of which he is currently the Honorary Chief Secretary. Recently he even played a crucial role in organising a convention of over 150 Kannadiga journalists from across the nation in Mumbai under the aegis of the Sangha.

Also an active social worker, Rons has never hesitated in coming to the aid of any distressed person in Mumbai who hails from his home district.

Rons now has an ambitious plan of  constructing a Patrakartara Bhavan at Santacruz at a cost of nearly Rs 3 crores. Till date Rons has won several awards from various organisations and latest to his kitty is the Karnataka Madhyama Academy Award.
