HAIR RISING TRENDS: What was once seen on warriors and then passed on to punk bands and Hollywood celebrities has made its way to the Indian scene as well.

The Mohawk hairdo, which Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni debuted a few days ago, has now been spotted on the inmates of Bigg Boss 7.

A hairstyle where both sides of the head are shaved, leaving only a strip of hair on the centre of the head, the Mohawk has been seen on cricketer Virat Kohli too.

Kohli joined the Mohawk bandwagon by giving a twist to the conventional style, and kept it stylish and dense.

The reality TV series saw Apurva Agnihotri and Sangram Singh getting their head shaved as a task, which seems to have become a big trend.

While the former’s wife Shilpa and the latter’s girlfriend Payal Rohatgi might not have taken it in good taste, the boys seem to be enjoying their new look.

New look: Cricketer Virat Kohli (left) and Team India captain M S Dhoni (right) have also decided to sport the latest fashionable hair style

"Mohawks look super-cool and creative but are not meant for everyone. They need a lot of maintenance and look best on thick textured hair," hair stylist Steven Mick of Blliis By Ravissant said.

The Mohawk hairstyle takes its name from the people of the Mohawk nation, an indigenous people of North America who originally inhabited the Mohawk Valley in New York.
