May 07, 2015: These incredible pictures show a new decorating trend for 3D floor tiles that can turn kitchens and bathrooms into amazing landscapes.
By using angled photos and multiple transparent layers, the floors allow wealthy homeowners to turn their rooms into the ocean floor, or an incredible beach scene.
The astonishing images appear life-like even when viewed from multiple angles.
The technique, which has been used for a few years in upmarket shopping centres and other buildings, is now turning the head of bling-loving householders who have a spare £20,000 or more burning a hole in their back pocket.
Most customers favour coral reefs, waves, dolphins and tropical fish, but more imaginative designs include a particularly unnerving one that looks like the floor is collapsing from under the bathroom user.
The website for Imperial, a Middle East-based installer, states: "It’s not just a picture, it’s a large-scale art object , which fundamentally changes the idea of what flooring can do.
"On the one hand it’s a surface, and on the other a whole image, with all shades and textures."
