WATCH: The gangster crab! Incredible moment crustacean wields KNIFE in its claw

Feb 20, 2016: Dubbed the ’gangster crab’ the 30 second clip has been seen by more than 1.2million people on YouTube.

Clutching the blue kitchen knife in its right claw, the crab continually backs away from a desperate man who is trying to grab hold of his weapon.

As the crab scuttles away he brandishes the knife to defend himself as the man’s hand continually attempts to take the knife.

It’s unclear how long it takes for the man to wrestle the knife off the crab but viewers were quick to champion to crab.

One said: "He grew up in the rough part of the reef".

Clearly thinking of the damage the armed crab could cause, one commenter said: "Imagine going to the hospital and explaining how you got shanked by a crab."

Others said: "Crabby stabby!", "Thug life" and "Welcome to the hood."

Another added: "If all other crabs learn from this one, humanity is doomed."
