‘Monthi Fest’ celebration by Jebel Ali Assisi Konkani Community

Jebel Ali, 11 September 2010: JAKC (Jebel Ali Assisi Konkani Community), celebrated “Monthi Fest” (Nativity of the Blessed Mother Mary) on 8th September 2010 at 8:00 PM in the St. Francis of Assisi Church, Jebel Ali with Mass in Konkani offered by their newly appointed Spiritual Director, Fr. Frank Gomes to a full capacity of congregation of more than 1400. Jebel Ali was the only fortunate Parish in the UAE, to celebrate the Monthi Fest with Mass in Konkani on the same day as the feast day.

Children offered the showering of flowers to Mother Mary in the grotto to the hymn “Moriyek Hogolsian”. John Monteiro, President of JAKC thanked all the sponsors, choir group, those who helped directly or indirectly and contributed to the success of the feast. Sumptuous buffet vegetarian dinner in Mangalorean cuisine with sweet ‘vorne’ by Canara Restaurant, Dubai was served to all which was liked by everyone.
