Abu Dhabi, Nov 5: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is celebrating his fifth year as Crown Prince on Thursday. He was appointed Crown Prince in November 2004.
Shaikh Mohammad is the third son of Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and was born in 1961.
He graduated from Sandhurst Royal Military Academy in 1979.
In January 1993, General Shaikh Mohammad was appointed Chief-of-Staff of the UAE Armed Forces and was Lieutenant General from 1994 to January 2005. In 2005 he he was promoted as General. He was appointed as Deputy Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in November 2003. Shaikh Mohammad was appointed Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council in 2004.
He is also Head of the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development. He has also been the chief of the the Mubadala Development formed in 2002. The organisation is considered the main investment vehicle for Abu Dhabi.
