Dubai, 18 April 20112: Enormous preparations are under way for the decennial celebrations of St Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC), Dubai. Tickets are already on sale and there is good response for the sentimental evening ’Grand Konkan Showers 2012 – Wilfy Nite’.

 

The show is scheduled to be held on April 27 at Al Nasr Leisureland, Ice Rink, Dubai from 5.30 pm. The doors will open at 4.30 pm.


A 12-member ‘Wilfy Nite’ troupe flying in from Mangalore, Bombay and Qatar will be performing for over three hours during the event. They are all set for their superfluous renditions of the old and new songs that will take the audience back to the golden memories of the great legend himself - ’Konkan Kogul’ the late Wilfy Rebimbus.
 
Wilfy Rebimbus had performed live on two occasions during the annual events of SMKC Dubai. The crowd will definitely miss his presence on stage but his family promises to give back to the crowd a part of the legacy that will continue in everyone’s heart forever.

Over the past decade, St Mary’s Konkan Community, Dubai has touched many hearts of the low income families back home and here in the United Arab Emirates. In addition to the zeal to uplift the less fortunate brothers and sisters, realizing the dreams of many young students, endeavours to keep the Konkani culture, language and heritage alive in a foreign land was made through the annual programmes.

The many SMKC Dubai ventures have been culturally binding and entertaining.
