Kuwait, March 13: As part of its Upcoming Youth Conference “From Darkness to Light”, Indian Muslim Association YOUTHWING organized a Sports Day on Friday 12th of March at Fahaheel grounds with an aim to reach out to Indian youths from different parts of Kuwait. More than 300 Indian youths participated in the sports events.
Cricket, Volleyball & Tug-Of-War was the main attraction of the Sports Day events. Cricket tournament was inaugurated by a delivery bowled by IMA President Mohammed Aslam. A total of 16 teams participated in the cricket tournament, the final of which was played between JCC sports club & MES. JCC won the finals beating MES by 9 wickets. Six teams participated in Volleyball event which was won by Youth India A beating Youth India B in the final. Kuwait Lions won the Tug-Of-War event, 4 teams participated in this event.
Short Inaugural function was held prior to the Sports event, which began with the recitation of the verses from Holy Quran by Wajid Hashmi. Key note speaker B.S. Sharafuddin delivered his speech on the theme ’From Darkness to Light’. While speaking on the occasion he shed light on the different manifests of darkness which has influenced the human life, especially the Youth.
He also emphasized the importance of Good deeds & steadfastness in one’s life. General instructions for the sports day were given by Shameem. At the end, in his concluding remarks IMA President Mohammed Aslam called upon the youth to join hands with IMA-Youthwing in their mission of spreading the LIGHT of knowledge, brotherhood and harmony. Event was managed by Jaleel Ahmed.
Youth Conference which is scheduled to be held on Friday the 23rd of April, 2010 at Masjid Al-Kabir (The Grand Mosque) Kuwait City is an attempt by IMA-Youth Wing to prepare the youth & students to fulfill their responsibility towards society, educating them about false ideologies & enhance their talents for the service of humanity. Prize distribution for all the events will be held on the conference day.
