Indian in Dubai charged with murdering wife for Cheating on him

Dubai,Nov 8: An Indian man was charged in a Dubai court with strangling his wife to death, suspecting she had an extra-marital affair with another man.

The man was charged with murder and consuming alcohol in the Dubai Court of First Instance on Wednesday, media reported.

 

The couple entered into a brawl, when the 33-year-old Indian man, identified by his name’s initials SN by The National, after consuming liquor, questioned his wife, Papita Rama, about her extra-marital affair on August 7.

He then strangled Rama to death. After committing the crime, SN turned himself in to the police and confessed to his crime.

The police went to the man’s house in Al Jafiliyah area in Dubai and found his wife’s body lying on a bed.

“He looked agitated and smelt of alcohol. He told us that he had a brawl with his wife over his suspicion that she was having an affair. He confessed that he strangled her after she verbally abused him,” the Khaleej Times quoted a police officer as telling the court.

“He said he was at his place drinking alcohol when his wife returned from work around 7.30 p.m. They fought when he questioned her whether she was cheating on him,” a police officer said.

“The wife then packed her bag to leave her husband’s room and when he tried to stop her, she verbally abused him. He went mad and threw her on bed, and strangled her,” the officer added.

According to the report, semen traces taken from the victim proved that, prior to her death, she had sex with another man.
